About WCLA

Our mission is to ensure the continued growth, health, and long-term stability of Washington State's cannabis industry. We advocate for thoughtful, measured improvements that allow the market to evolve and thrive. We strongly oppose major policy shifts that would give an unfair advantage to the largest operators while putting smaller businesses at a disadvantage.

At WCLA, we believe the future of the industry depends on supporting responsible operators of all sizes who are committed to producing and selling safe products, upholding fair market practices, and creating supportive workplaces for their employees. These values are not only good for business, they are essential to preserving the character and integrity of Washington's cannabis market.

As we look to lessons from other state programs, we remain focused on preventing the erosion of small business protections and avoiding overconsolidation that harms innovation, quality, and access. Our members are dedicated to building a sustainable cannabis economy that reflects the values, diversity, and entrepreneurial spirit of the communities we serve.

We strive to preserve the unique character of Washington's cannabis market, one built on retail store limits and canopy limits to prevent monopolistic control, and regulations built to support Washington based family owned operators, instead of faceless shareholder-driven corporations. Our goal is to maintain a diverse and competitive industry that offers authentic products to both residents and visitors. We firmly oppose corporate consolidation that strips identity from the marketplace and threatens the independence of small and medium operators.

WCLA offers a platform for collaboration, advocacy, and real representation. By working together, we can shape a future that supports sustainable growth and ensures long-term viability for all operators.
